How it all started...
The church began almost 3 decades ago, with just a few families and a vision of how God could impact this part of Texas. We first met in a rented facility but quickly outgrew that space. God began to move in miraculous ways as He continued to bring precious people to join our fellowship and expand the ministry. We prayed about what God wanted HighPoint to be and do and He soon revealed that He wanted us to be a different ministry that offered Christ beyond the borders of even our county and beyond. We soon purchased the property we now occupy, and God led us to build the first two phases of the long-range plan for the church. It has been my privilege to pastor HighPoint Fellowship as Christ has grown His church, ministries and mission over the years. - Walter Kahler, Senior Pastor
Expanding the vision...
Today HighPoint is a growing, healthy, and exciting place of community and family that people can be a part of. It has become this because we take God at His word and living out His Great Commandment, to love Him more and love people. The Great Commandment has become more than a thing to say, but rather a way to live abundantly. It has caused our church to openly receive all who walk through our doors without judgement and receive them with love and acceptance. HighPoint is a ministry of grace that desires to reach people of all walks of life, not only in this part of Texas, but globally. We do that through local and foreign mission endeavors.
Where we are headed...
God has placed HighPoint as a “hub” in our community where we offer a place of comfort, ministry, supply, and love to the world around us. One way we do that is through our partnership with Montgomery County Food bank as a distribution point for those in need in the area. We also try to accomplish that through a bookstore and a coffee shop for people to come and browse, unwind, and rest amid their hectic schedules. We offer a contemporary worship style and easily understandable messages on how to live life to the fullest. I truly see HighPoint as the “storehouse” where people can come and find fulfillment not only spiritually, but physically and emotionally as well. I believe God has great things in store for HighPoint as we focus on Him and others. HighPoint is a great place to belong!
